Meet Dr. Meda Bacon
Dr. Meda Bacon
Dr. Meda Bacon (formerly Dr. McClure) grew up in southwest Missouri, surrounded by animals ranging from horses to rabbits. From an early age, she showed a natural talent for working with animals and has dedicated her life to the care, health, and companionship of all species.
Dr. Bacon earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences and Behavior from Missouri State University while working as a veterinary technician. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University, completing her clinical year at Colorado State University. After graduation, Dr. Bacon returned to Missouri, where she spent several years as an associate veterinarian in a mixed animal practice. During this time, she gained extensive experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions across multiple species.
It was through this work that Dr. Bacon recognized the importance of compassionate geriatric care and the need for gentle in-home euthanasia services in the area. This led her to establish Greener Pastures, which later expanded into the opening of McClure Veterinary Clinic in Ozark, Missouri—a full-service clinic committed to comprehensive and compassionate care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Bacon is an avid outdoor enthusiast. She enjoys backpacking, kayaking, rock climbing, horseback riding, and scuba diving.
