We treat grooming as part of your dog’s health. Regular baths, brush-outs, nail trims and ear cleaning keep skin and coat healthy and help catch problems early, and because our grooming area is part of a full-service veterinary clinic, medical awareness comes with every appointment.

Grooming has its own entrance and lobby, shared with our boarding area, and appointments run Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Gentle Grooming for Anxious and Fearful Dogs

Katelyn specializes in working with anxious and fear-aggressive dogs. Instead of rushing, she works at your dog’s pace to earn their trust, using relaxing music, calming scents and breaks throughout the groom. Her goal is for every dog to be excited to come back.

Our Mindful Grooming Promise means 100% of the groomer’s focus is on your pet: loving them as her own, doing what is best for them, treating them with respect and kindness, and building trust one visit at a time.

If your dog has had a hard time at other groomers, tell us when you book. Sharing what upsets your dog, such as clippers near the face or having paws handled, helps us plan a calmer appointment.

Grooming Vaccine and Health Requirements

Proof of vaccination is required before your appointment. Dogs must be current on:

  • Rabies
  • Bordetella (kennel cough)
  • Distemper (DA2PP or DA2PP-L4)

Dogs must also be free of fleas and ticks. If we find fleas or ticks, you will be charged for the appropriate flea/tick medication. Our article on vaccines needed for dog boarding and grooming explains each requirement, and our vaccination services can get your dog up to date.

How Often Should Your Dog Be Groomed?

It depends on the coat. Dogs with continuously growing coats, such as poodles, doodles, shih tzus and many terriers, usually need regular haircuts to prevent mats. Double-coated breeds benefit from de-shedding treatments, especially during heavy shedding seasons. Short-coated dogs may only need periodic baths, nail trims and ear cleaning.

Katelyn can recommend a schedule for your dog’s coat, lifestyle and skin. Puppies benefit from an early, positive introduction, which is why we offer a Puppy’s 1st Groom for dogs under 6 months. See our puppy and kitten packages for early wellness care.
