A house call takes the hardest part out of veterinary care for many pets: the carrier, the car ride and the busy waiting room. Your pet is examined where they feel safe, you can ask questions without watching the clock, and multi-pet households can often have everyone seen in one visit.
Our mobile service is backed by a full-service hospital. Dr. Meda Bacon founded McClure Veterinary Clinic in 2017 after starting Greener Pastures, an in-home end-of-life service, so caring for pets at home has been part of our work from the beginning.

Which Pets Benefit Most from a House Call?
Mobile visits are a good fit when getting to the clinic is stressful or difficult:
- Anxious pets and cats who hate the carrier. Less handling and no car ride can mean a calmer exam.
- Large, arthritic or mobility-limited dogs that are hard to lift into a vehicle.
- Senior pets who tire easily or have several conditions to monitor.
- Multi-pet households that would otherwise need several trips.
- Owners with limited mobility or transportation, or with busy schedules and young children at home.
- Pets in hospice care, where comfort at home is the priority.
What Still Happens at Our Ozark Hospital
Some care needs the full hospital. These services are done at our clinic at 5261 N 22nd St, Ozark:
- Surgery and spay and neuter, with pre-surgical bloodwork, IV catheter placement and continuous monitoring.
- Dental cleanings with digital dental X-rays.
- Digital X-rays and echocardiograms.
- Same-day urgent visits for sudden illness or injury during business hours.
If your pet needs one of these after a home visit, we schedule it at the clinic, and your records follow your pet. The same team cares for your pet in both places.
How to Request a Mobile Visit
- Complete the mobile visit request form. Include your address and each pet’s name, species, breed, age and weight.
- List the services and products each pet needs, such as vaccines, a wellness exam, lab work or refills of preventives.
- Add your questions or concerns so the doctor can prepare.
- Our team follows up to confirm the visit details.
You can also choose “Mobile” on our appointment request form or call (417) 731-4071. Pricing depends on the services and the number of pets, so ask our team for current details when you book.
Preparing Your Home for the Visit
- Pick a quiet, well-lit spot where your pet is comfortable, with room for the doctor to kneel beside them.
- Confine cats before we arrive. Close them in a small room so they cannot hide under beds.
- Have leashes ready for dogs, and keep other pets in a separate room if they get excited by visitors.
- Gather medications, food and records, including anything from a previous veterinarian.
- Note any changes you have seen, such as appetite, thirst, bathroom habits, mobility or behavior.
